Dragonflies and damselflies are beautiful insects and spectacular aviators with a fascinating life cycle, which appeals to people of all ages. They are excellent bio-indicators of the health of our wetlands. The British Dragonfly Society (BDS) is a membership charity and the world’s largest organisation dedicated to the study and conservation of dragonflies, damselflies and their wetland habitats.
We have over 1,600 members and increasing this number will enable us to undertake and deliver more conservation, education and recording projects which benefit our dragonflies and damselflies.
There are several ways to report a Dragonfly sighting:
Report a casual sighting or visit to a site, for the benefit of others who might wish to know what’s flying at the moment. These sightings are not vetted and are not automatically treated as scientific records.
