I hope we will be shown around by the warden’s assistants. Tice’s Meadow is on the borders of Waverley, Rushmoor and Guildford boroughs and is owned by a consortium of 6 local councils. Water comes in from the aquifer beneath and the level has an uncontrolled range of 4 metres, making management challenging. It’s a top site in Southern England for birders and has recorded increasing numbers of dragonfly species.
We’ve been asked to watch out for Lesser Emperor dragonflies, as they’ve not yet been seen there this year.
