Lackford Lakes Nature Reserve

This Site of Special Scientific Interest is a system of former gravel pits lying beside the river Lark. A great site for dragonflies and damselflies, which can be seen hovering above the open water. The broad-bodied chaser dragonfly is highly territorial and can possessively hog a boundary marker like a stone or reed for days on end.
