Things to see

Although the landscape is challenging, boardwalk makes visiting easy-going, with routes leading through peaty pools or out onto the open moss where many different insects.

White-faced Darter

This species was reintroduced to the site

Flight period is April to September.

Easy to identify by their white face.

Seasonal Highlights

The rare White-faced Darters start emerging from the bog pools in spring.

Common Hawker can be seen on the hunt in summer.

In autumn Black Darter sunbath on the boardwalks.
