Cors Caron National Nature Reserve (Ceredigion)
The site is an inland raised mire made up of 3 bogs, these are surrounded by reedbeds, streams and ponds. The River Teifi runs in and around the site. There have been 16 species of dragonfly recorded on the site, these include Keeled Skimmer, Four-spotted Chaser, Common Hawker and Black Darter; there are also stream loving species Golden-ringed Dragonfly, Beautiful and Banded Demoiselles. Cors Caron NNR is designated as a SSSI, SAC and Ramsar site and is managed by NRW.
The site is located off the B4343 (Lampeter to Aberystwyth road) between Tregaron and Pontrhydfendigaid. The reserve is signed and there is a car park and public toilets. The 2 miles of boardwalks running through the reserve are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, there are also hides and seats throughout the reserve. There are other routes, some of which are inaccessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs.
