Cors Bodgynydd (Conwy)

This site has several different habitats, as well as an acid bog including a reservoir (Llyn Bodgynydd Bach) and lake to the south (Llyn Tynmynydd).  There are 16 species found on this site, Black-tailed Skimmers turned up in 2013 at the reservoir.  Keeled Skimmers and Black Darters are found throughout the site and Scarce Blue-tailed Damsel is found at the lake, one of only two known sites in Snowdonia.

This reserve is about 3 miles north west of Betws-y-Coed.  It is probably easiest to approach it from one of the unclassified roads leaving the A5 west of Betws-y-Coed or from unclassified roads leaving the B5106 south west of Llanrwst.   There is a small car park.  This reserve is not suitable for wheelchairs or push chairs and care should be taken as it is dangerous in places.  The reserve is grazed by 3 friendly Highland cattle.
