BDS Recording Scheme database passes over two million records!

Over two million records are now contained within the BDS database on NBN atlas. This amazing achievement is primarily a result of the hard work of volunteer recorders, and County Dragonfly Recorders who oversee data collection in their areas.

The BDS database is publically available on NBN atlas where it can be accessed by academics for use in research as well as NGOs, public bodies and local authorities responsible for wetland site management. In addition, the BDS uses its database to identify species of concern that need increased protection and conservation action, in publications such as the State of Dragonflies 2021.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have contributed over the years; if you would like to get involved you can find out more on the BDS website.
