The BDS team says goodbye to Jess Slight and Emily Seccombe

This week, the British Dragonfly Society said goodbye to Jess Slight, BDS Operations and Membership Officer, and Emily Seccombe, the 2025 Events Officer.

Emily joined the team for the dragonfly season, during which she has been travelling up and down the country running events and spreading the joy of dragonflies! Her enthusiasm for wetlands and dragonflies has been truly infectious. We wish her the best of luck as she begins her PhD at Reading, studying ponds!

Jess Slight joined the team in 2022 and, since then, has been working hard behind the scenes, providing support to staff and volunteers, and running the BDS shop and membership scheme. The team will truly miss her positivity, warmth and creativity; however, we are excited to see what she and her little dog Pam get up to next, and we wish her all the best!
