At noon today there were still three male Red-veined Darters flying out over the Boating Lake on Southampton Common. Yesterday there was also a female ovipositing in tandem with one of the males.
- Golden-ringeds in Bowland
Bowland: At a well-known site here, several Golden-ringed Dragonflies were active on some fell-side runnels. Not too far away at a small acidic pond near Grindleton, another Golden-ringed plus two Common Hawkers and many Large Red, Emerald, and Azure Damselflies.

At Cornhill Meadows Essex today I saw 5 Common Hawkers. Banded Demoiselle were everywhere, 4+ Common Blues and 3+ Blue Tailed Damselflies

River Blackwater at SU 885 518. Two male scarce chasers and a brown hawker. Damselflies present: common blue, blue tailed and azure damselflies and banded demoiselles.

My first Common Darter of the year plus a Four-spotted Chaser and a few Common Blue and Blue-tailed Damselflies all at Blindwells Pond.
River Yare, Cringleford Norwich. The first Southern Hawker was flying up and down the riverside path today during my lunch hour. Three Emperor's and five Brown Hawker's and one Hairy yesterday……….. the sun was out.

Thursley Common: 1 Brilliant and several Downy Emeralds around Moat Pond this afternoon. Large numbers of Keeled Skimmer and Four-spotted Chaser along boardwalks, with some Common Darter and 1 Black-tailed Skimmer. Lots of Large Red Damselflies.

Ted Ellis Reserve, Wheatfen, Surlingham, Norfolk
Still lots of Scarce Chasers (100+) (best site in UK for them?), 2 Norfolk Hawkers, 2 Brown Hawker, 1 Four spot Chaser, 1 Black Tailed Skimmer (female), 1 Emperor, Azure Damselflies (numerous), Blue Tailed Damsels (lots but not as many as Azures)
- Netherton meadow, Saltwells LNR first Southern hawker of the year, 7 four spot chasers, azures, bluetails and a male broard bodied chaser.

3 male Emperor and 1 female Emperor (ovipositing), 4 Brown Hawker, 20+ Four-spot Chasers and 1 male Black-tailed Skimmer along with Azure, Common Blue, Blue-tailed, Red-eyed and Large Red Damselfly between Wild's Bridge and Irish Jack's Bridge on the Grantham Canal, near Kinoulton, Nottinghamshire

At least 10 Red-veined Darter, all males, along the eastern edge of the main pool at Kenfig NNR, 10th July 2013. Also plenty of Black-tailed Skimmers, Emperor, Common Blue damselfly and the usual common species.

Norfolk hawkers still showing at Paxton. 5-6 individuals over water soldier and along rear phragmites bed on NW coner of Hayling lake.
- Large Numbers of Odonata at Elvetham Heath NR
Elvetham Heath Local Nature Reserve, NE Hants
A stunning display of, 100+ Small Red Damselflys (by far the highest count for the site), 6 Downy Emeralds and 30+ Keeled Skimmers. Unconfirmed reports of Black Darter also.
- Red-veined Darters
On the model boating lake on Southampton Common this morning were 3 male Red-veined Darters clashing with the Black-tailed Skimmers.
Sixteen species at Cadnam Common this afternoon including a female Black Darter – my first of the year – and the Small Red-eyed Damselfly count has gone up to six with a female seen in tandem with one of the males. Just one Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly today.

Langdon Hills. Four emperors included 3 males & a female egg laying. One each of four spotted chaser, black tailed skimmer & brown hawker. Two common darter. One pond held a dozen or so of large red damselflies; many common blue damselflies, widespread.
- Saltwells Nature Reserve the first Keeled skimmer of the year, hundreds of Azure, lots of Large red, Blue tailed and Common blue. Also seen Banded demoiselle, 3 Broard bodied chasers, 4 four spot chasers, lots of emerging Common darter and an Emperor.

- Southern damsel and golden ringed dragons in new forest
Crockford stream: at least 3 golden ringed dragonflies, 5+ beautiful demioselles, 6+ southern damselflies (including 2 tandem pairs), 5+ keeled skimmers, 1 broad bodied chaser.
Hatchet Pond: 10+ broad bodied chasers patrolling over bog bean, 5+ blue tailed damselflies (no scarce BT damsels seen), 1 common darter, 5+ common blue damselflies, 1 pr small red damselflies, 10+ keeled skimmers, 1 black tailed skimmer.

Four spotted chaser spotted in my garden, Petts Wood area, Bromley
Golden ringed dragon fly perched on the front tire on my car in the visitor parking lot to the Balmoral estate near the river Dee. A warm sunny day with no breeze. Placed it on a stalk in the shade before we drove away.
Several keeled skimmers at holt lowes and my first common darter this year.Scarce chaser and brown hawker at strumpshaw fen today.

- Brown hawker at Thursley Common
Thursley Common. Moat pond had brown hawker, downy and brilliant emeralds and four-spotted chaser. Boardwalk had keeled skimmer, four-spotted chaser and blck-tailed skimmer. Azure and large red damselflies throughout.
