An encyclopaedic knowledge is not required, just passing on what you know with calm enthusiasm does work wonders. Many visitors respond in a positive manner, asking questions and relating their experiences of dragonflies they have seen. Some are keen to show snap shots taken on their compact cameras or mobile phones and are delighted when our volunteers are able to identify the species. More volunteers will ensure we can open most weekends (May through to the end of September), bank holidays and some weekdays during the long hot summer school holidays! Whether you can help for a full day (10am-4pm) or only a half day (10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm) you would be welcomed into our happy band of volunteers. With the doors open we are able to share the secrets of the dragonfly world with our visitors. If you would like to get involved, email our Conservation Officer to get started! |
