New Release: Suffolk Dragonflies

New Release: Suffolk Dragonflies

This fantastic new book, published by The Suffolk Naturalist Society and Edited by Nick Mason & Adrian Parr, is filled with fascinating up-to-date information on Suffolk's dragonflies and is a must have for anyone interested in the county's dragonflies or an interest in the response of Britain's wildlife to recent ecological shifts.

This book is an update to the 1992 volume by Mendel on the same theme but a great deal of change has happened in the intervening period, with changes to land use and water drainage as well as climate change having profound impacts on Suffolk's dragonfly fauna. The book delves into this fascinating subject, with the data revealing 8 new dragonfly species to the county since 1992, three of which are confirmed breeding, and many others faring well. The book also investigates those species which are not thriving within recent years.

Suffolk Dragonflies is available in the BDS shop now, for the brilliant price of £10.00 (plus £2.pp P & P).
