Survey the perimeter of Wyndham’s Pool, looking also at the smaller nearby pond and part of the surrounding heathland. The ranger service claims Black Darter and Golden-ringed Dragonfly for the common but we’re unsure whether these species are currently present.
Boots or wellies, close-focussing binoculars, lunch.
This is the first HSBG visit to Yateley Common. After surveying Wyndham's Pool we will move cars on to visit a pond at Yateley Common, parking at SU 8388 5941 just north of the A30 dual carriageway. Wellies will be useful here.
At 10.30am at the HCC car park off Cricket Hill Lane, SU 8221 5964. After turning off Cricket Hill Lane by the HCC Yateley Common sign, follow the track past a pond on your right then take a sharp left turn up a hill into the car park.

There are several ways to report a Dragonfly sighting:
Report a casual sighting or visit to a site, for the benefit of others who might wish to know what’s flying at the moment. These sightings are not vetted and are not automatically treated as scientific records.
