Help us look for Common Clubtail at sites along the Thames where it has been seen in recent years but only photographed once.
*** REVISED PLAN ***
Following the discovery of a Common Clubtail larva early in 2023 at a pond on Staines Moor, our meeting point is now Moor Lane – see details above.
Background
Clubtails have also been seen in backwaters of the Thames above and below Church Island, at Penton Hook Marina and at Holm Island opposite Runnymede Pleasure Grounds.
We will walk on Staines Moor and then head to Church Island on the Thames where we will eat our packed lunches in a friend’s garden as we keep watch on the Clubtails’ habitat. We may be able to hire canoes or paddle boards to get out on the water.
