Conwy Nature Reserve, North Wales, is proof that wonderful things can happen when we work with nature in mind. What was once waste material, dug out when the A55 road tunnel was built, has been transformed into a haven for wetland wildlife. With a network of boardwalks and viewing points, this is the perfect place to learn about wetland wildlife and get close to dragonflies.
Working in partnership British Dragonfly Society and RSPB will be celebrating Conwy Nature Reserve as a Dragonfly Hotspot.
The day will be jam packed with exciting activities:
Guided dragonfly walks
Pond dipping (£3 donation per child)
Dragonfly crafting
Report a Sighting
There are several ways to report a Dragonfly sighting:
Option 1
Report a casual sighting or visit to a site, for the benefit of others who might wish to know what’s flying at the moment. These sightings are not vetted and are not automatically treated as scientific records.
Report a scientific record for addition to our long-term database of dragonfly occurrence, phenology. These records are subject to verification by a local expert.
