Celebrate Dragonfly Week at the beautiful Exbury Gardens, one of our Dragonfly Hotspots!
Exbury Gardens contains an array of beautiful pools, home to an abundance of dragonflies. Take a walk up to the Dragonfly Pond or jump on the steam railway to the Dragonfly stop. Here you will find a brilliant place to watch dragonflies, with lots of information boards to learn about their life cycle.
Renowned naturalist and author of The Dragonfly Diaries Ruary Mackenzie Dodds will be in the gardens to talk to our visitors about this incredible species and Exbury’s very special Hotspot status. He will give two talks on Saturday 8 July at midday and 2:30pm.
Copies of his book The Dragonfly Diaries are available to purchase in our Gift Shop. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity which is free with an admissions ticket or a Friends of Exbury Membership
There are several ways to report a Dragonfly sighting:
Report a casual sighting or visit to a site, for the benefit of others who might wish to know what’s flying at the moment. These sightings are not vetted and are not automatically treated as scientific records.
