Dragonfly Week starts on the third Saturday in July every year and ends the following weekend. This year the global celebrations begin on Saturday 17th July and finish on Sunday 25th July.
Join in online, wherever you are, and celebrate dragonflies in any way you would like! For example you could: dress in the colours of your favourite dragonfly, draw a dragonfly, head out to your local wetland or community pond to watch dragonflies, dig a pond or plant some wildflowers to attract the insects that dragonflies eat, share our posts on social media to help share knowledge or write a poem or short story about these beautiful insects. The possibilities are endless!
There are several ways to report a Dragonfly sighting:
Report a casual sighting or visit to a site, for the benefit of others who might wish to know what’s flying at the moment. These sightings are not vetted and are not automatically treated as scientific records.
