A team of British Dragonfly Society (BDS) volunteers will be resident in the field for five days during Dragonfly Week 2019. Why not come along to the BDS stand near the Reserve’s bird sanctuary, say hello to the team and hear all about Hengistbury Head’s Dragonfly populations.
Hengistbury Head runs between Christchurch Harbour and the Channel. It has a variety of wildlife habitats – including ponds – that together form a rich mosaic of ecological interest and importance.
Free Bookable Pondside Activities
The residency will be punctuated by a series of free pondside activities. Places for these are limited and so booking is essential. Please telephone the Visitor Centre Reception Desk on 01202451618 to make your reservation.
