Event Category:
Location:
Magor Marsh Nature Reserve

A day of celebration and discovery will bring you close to dragonflies, as we celebrate Magor Marsh Nature Reserve as a Dragonfly Hotspot. Designated by the British Dragonfly Society and working in collaboration with Gwent Wildlife Trust and the Living Levels Partnership.

Dragonfly Hotspots are special places, carefully chosen because they support a good variety of dragonfly and damselfly species, are easy to access, and can provide opportunities for local communities to learn about dragonflies and get involved with dragonfly conservation and events. This event is taking place in Dragonfly Week (6th-14th July), which is an annual celebration of dragonflies with events running nationally throughout the week.

Celebrate at Magor Marsh and learn about the species that call the Gwent Levels home. With two guided walks, we will take a tour through the nature reserve discovering why the habitat is so important for the dragonfly life cycle as well as recording the species we see. The walks will be the perfect introduction to getting started with dragonfly identification.

The walks are free to attend but booking is essential and spaces are limited so make sure to book your spot today!
