While we think of dragonflies dancing in the sky, they actually start their lives underwater. Join us at Whisby as we search for dragonfly larvae in Thorpe Lake.
Come to Whisby Education Centre and take part in a special family-friendly pond dipping session as we search out dragonfly larvae and other freshwater invertebrates in Thorpe Lake.
We will host 2 sessions, 11:00 – 12:00 and 14:00 – 15:00, both with a cost of £3.00 per child.
For further information or to book your place, contact the Whisby education team by email: *protected email* or by phone: 01522 696926.
There are several ways to report a Dragonfly sighting:
Option 1
Report a casual sighting or visit to a site, for the benefit of others who might wish to know what’s flying at the moment. These sightings are not vetted and are not automatically treated as scientific records.
Report a scientific record for addition to our long-term database of dragonfly occurrence, phenology. These records are subject to verification by a local expert.
