Demoiselle Wing-spot Survey
17/05/2018
Dr. Jonathan Drury and others at Durham University are mapping geographical and seasonal variation in demoiselle damselfly wing colouration. To do this, they are enlisting the help of dragonfly enthusiasts from across the U.K. to take and submit high-quality photos of the Beautiful Demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo) and the Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens). Participants are also encouraged to upload existing photos that they may have taken of either species in previous years, as long as the date and location of the photo are known. iRecord is unsuitable for this project so for more information and instructions on how to submit photographs, please visit www.inaturalist.org/projects/british-demoiselles.
