This summer, the residents of Telford will have the chance to take part in a community project celebrating the natural history of Telford, which will include a range of workshops and outdoor events focusing on Telford’s local wetlands and wildlife, its Dragonflies in particular.
The project is the result of a hardworking collaboration between The Ironbridge Meadows and Pastures Group and The Lodge Field Group, local volunteers who assist in monitoring and managing reserves in South Telford. Many of the activities and events will be based around Beeches Field Local Nature Reserve in Ironbridge, and its Dragonfly pool. The BDS is working in partnership with the local groups, and will be supporting the project by providing guidance and training on Dragonfly identification and recording, as well as management advice for the reserve.
Please keep an eye on our events page, as information on the project’s workshops and events will be released shortly.
This project is being funded by the Telford @ 50 grant: www.telford50.co.uk
